Lead Activists

Leaders from CWA’s Districts and several Sectors have chosen young members with passion and commitment to become Lead Activists in the Next Generation Program. These men and women all have the knowledge, energy, and organizing skills necessary to grow Next Gen at the local level, starting from the grassroots.

What We Do

Lead Activists recruit dedicated CWA members to join the Next Gen network as members and member-mentors. Starting in their own local unions, Lead Activists seek those who are willing to dedicate some time each month to improving the lives of their fellow young workers.

Our Leads and their recruits learn from the experiences of more seasoned members and listen to the concerns of young rank-and-file members. Together they help to develop Next Gen strategies to address those concerns in workplaces and in their communities.

Lead Activists train new Next Gen members and build coalitions with other progressive groups. They inspire both young and seasoned CWA members to take action for a better future for all of us.

If you’re interested in starting a chapter of Next Gen at your Local, the first step is to find the Lead for your District or Sector in the list below, and get in touch!

Please email the Next Gen program at cwanextgeneration@cwa-union.org to connect with your Lead. Please tell us your Local number so we can connect you with the right Lead.
